In the fields operated independently or as a major shareholder, SOCAR produced 7.5 million tons1 of oil and 7.7 billion cubic meters2 of natural gas in 2024. The upward trend in national gas production continued, reaching 50.4 billion cubic meters3, representing a 4.4% increase compared to the corresponding figure in 2023. Over the course of the year, more than 29 million tons4 of crude oil were produced in Azerbaijan.
During the reporting period, SOCAR exported 16.6 million tons5 of oil to foreign markets. This figure includes both oil produced directly by SOCAR and the profit shares allocated to the Republic of Azerbaijan and SOCAR from production by international consortia operating in the country. National natural gas exports grew by 6%, reaching 25.3 billion cubic meters6, while domestic gas consumption rose by 1.7% to 13.7 billion cubic meters7 during the reporting period.
In 2024, SOCAR refined 5.8 million tons8 of oil and 3.4 billion cubic meters9 of natural gas. More than 2.3 million tons10 of oil, petrochemical, and gas-chemical products produced at SOCAR’s Azerbaijani facilities were exported to international markets. A 2.8% increase was recorded in the volume of exported oil, petrochemical, and gas-chemical products compared to the previous year.
