The first phase of construction of the Plant was completed in 1961. In the first phase, the gas-gasoline separators of Processing Unit 3, the gas condensate processing unit, the natural-gasoline stripping unit, and all supporting facilities were built. In Phase 2, the gas-gasoline separators of Processing Unit 2 and the separators of Processing Unit 1 were built and placed in service in 1963 and 1964 respectively. The initial design capacity of the Plant allowed for processing of 4.5 billion m3 of natural gas per year. During an upgrade, buried gas pipelines were laid over trestles and underwater pipelines were replaced with aboveground pipelines and two gas metering stations were built and placed in service at the Plant. In 2003 and 2004 two gas metering stations for metering "high pressure gas from the plant" and "total output from the plant", each with two lines, were built and placed in service.
In 2009, an additional line was put into service at the gas metering station to meter the Plant's total gas output from the Plant. Even though Gas-Gasoline Separator 5 was decommissioned in 1994 after constant operation, in 2008 the first stage K-1 absorbers were repaired and connected to Gas-Gasoline Separator 5, which made it possible to restore the Plant's original capacity. In 2007-2009, the Gas-Gasoline Separators of Processing Units 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 underwent major repairs, and major repairs were performed on Unit 4 and the storage tanks.
In addition, state of the art Optiflex1300 level gauges were placed in service at the storage tanks, flow meters were placed in service at Unit No. 7, and a FloBoss 407 meter was installed to meter wet gas entering the Plant and dry gas leaving the Plant.
The Plant has 21 operating areas and processing units and a central storage facility.
