On March 1, 2023, the President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Rovshan Najaf, met with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group, Muhammad Suleiman Al-Jasir.
During the meeting, they expressed satisfaction with the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the IDB and emphasized the importance of the projects implemented by the IDB in various fields in our country.
Within the framework of the meeting, the investment projects implemented by SOCAR in the country and abroad, including the Southern Gas Corridor, which makes a significant contribution to European energy security.
During the meeting, SOCAR's long-term strategy was discussed. It was noted that the application of digital and innovative technologies, as well as the development of renewable energy sources, were determined as priority areas. In this regard, parties considered possible cooperation opportunities between SOCAR and IDB on oil, gas, renewable energy and digitalization fields and exchanged opinions on other issues of mutual interest.
