On July 30, 2025, Rovshan Najaf, President of SOCAR, held a meeting with Tetsuya Yamada, Chairman of the Japan-Azerbaijan Economic Committee and Chief Operating Officer of ITOCHU Corporation.
The meeting emphasized the strong and effective partnership that SOCAR and ITOCHU Corporation have developed over the years. Both sides expressed satisfaction with their successful collaboration in oil and gas chemistry field, as well as in regional and global energy projects initiated under Azerbaijan’s leadership.
The parties also reviewed preparations for the upcoming meeting of the State Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Japan. Discussions focused on opportunities to expand cooperation across various areas of the energy sector, including oil field exploration and development, renewable energy initiatives, the application of cutting-edge industrial technologies, and other areas of mutual interest.
