Within the framework of the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”, oil, gas, and chemical industry workers competed in the final match of the mini-football tournament on April 29, 2023, organised by the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), with the support of the Association Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA), Neftchi Professional Football Club, and Neftchi Sports Club Public Union.
Starting the event with performing the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, attendees commemorated the dear memory of our martyrs who died heroically for the territorial integrity of our country with a minute of silence.
Within the framework of the event, participants watched a video about the mini-football tournament, and then the tournament’s final match started.
The teams representing SOCAR Downstream Management LLC and Surakhani Oil" Operating Company competed in the final, held at the Baku Tennis Academy. SOCAR Downstream Management LLC team defeated the opponent 5:4.
The event ended with the awarding ceremony of the winners. Based on the results of the tournament’s third place and final match, the BOS Shelf LLC team ranked 3rd, the Surakhani Oil Operating Company team – was 2nd, and the SOCAR Downstream Management LLC team – was 1st.
The teams were awarded prizes, certificates and medals, and diplomas for the most productive player, the best football player, and the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
The vice-president of SOCAR, Khalik Mammadov, and Neftchi Professional Football Club players - Emin Mahmudov, Azer Salahli, Agil Mammadov, Kenny Sayef, and Kilan Lebon handed the prizes to the winners.
