SOCAR hosted an event to mark the start of internships for Young Talents Program (YTP) participants.
The event began with the screening of a video featuring the experiences of graduates from the Young Talents Program.
Following the video, SOCAR Vice President Ziba Mustafayeva and Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) Rector Elmar Gasimov delivered speeches.
The speeches highlighted the opportunities SOCAR provides for young professionals, emphasizing the Young Talents Program (YTP) as a unique initiative launched in 2022 for students and graduates. The program aims to attract talented youth to SOCAR, facilitate their professional development, enhance their skills through diverse learning methods in a real work environment, and strengthen SOCAR’s employer brand. To date, 175 graduates have successfully completed the program and secured relevant positions at SOCAR enterprises. Additionally, the most outstanding graduates are selected each year for employment at SOCAR Türkiye, with six winners having been employed there since 2022. The program has benefited students from various higher education institutions across the country, including those from Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS).
Last year’s YTP winners, who are now working at various SOCAR enterprises, shared their experiences, highlighting the program’s benefits and its significant impact on their careers.
Additionally, the most successful mentors from previous years spoke about their experiences, offering advice to the new participants on making the most of the five-month internship.
The event concluded with the presentation of the "Most Successful Mentor of 2024" awards to four outstanding mentors in recognition of their contributions.
For the 2025 intake, SOCAR secured relevant quotas from its enterprises and subsidiaries to organize the program. The recruitment and selection process was conducted across various specialties, attracting a total of 2,809 applicants. Out of these, 133 candidates successfully passed all selection stages and earned the opportunity to participate in the program. The selected young talents represent 14 higher education institutions across the country. Notably, in line with SOCAR's diversity and inclusion policy, 73 of the 133 participants (55%) are young women.
