Bahar Gum Deniz

The Agreement went into effect on December 22, 2009. The Agreement block covers an area of 309.7 km2 and includes the Bahar and Gum Deniz fields.

Bahar is a gas-condensate field. It is located offshore SSE. The Bahar field went into production in 1969. The field consists of pay zones of the Balakhany, Pereryv, Girmekiustu, and Girmekialti strata. 203 wells were drilled from the time the field went into development until April 1, 2011. As of January 1, 2011 16.9 million tons of condensate and 12.9 billion cubic meters of gas had been produced at the field.


The Gum Deniz field is located offshore 21 km SW of Baku. Development of this field began in 1955. The field consists of pay zones of the Balakhany, Pereryv, Girmekiustu, and Girmekialti strata. 491 wells were drilled from the time the field went into development up to April 1, 2011. The field covers an area 145 km2. Cumulative production as of January 1, 2011 was 28,993 tons.
