    Polish National Security Bureau Chief visits SOCAR

    SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev met with delegation led by Aleksander Szczyglo, Head of National Security Bureau of Poland, on February 18. At the meeting, SOCAR President stressed that successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Poland creates wide opportunities for cooperation in energy sector. Emphasizing significance friendly relations between two countries, Polish National Security Bureau chief Szczyglo noted that Azerbaijan had made great success in energy sector during recent years and Poland with satisfaction follows Azerbaijan’s active participation in guaranteeing energy security of Europe. Mr. Abdullayev mentioned about SOCAR’s significant role in realization of important regional oil and gas projects implemented in Azerbaijan and underlined importance of diversifying export pipeline system. He also gave detailed information about projects realized by SOCAR in Azerbaijan and abroad. Rovnag Abdullayev talked about international relations made with foreign companies and noted about cooperation ties with EU companies including Polish “Lotos” and “Orlen”. Aleksander Szczyglo, chief of National Security Bureau of Poland, noted that SOCAR had achieved great international reputation. Furthermore, Szczyglo appraised activity of State Oil Company as one of main participants of international joint venture “Sarmatia” which implements Odessa-Brodi-Plotsk-Gdansk oil pipeline. Parties shared views on several other issues of their mutual interest.
