In accordance with up-to-date process requirements it is considered necessary to find out the initial ecological situation on the deposits before well drilling during oil and gas fields’ development. For this purpose Ecological Department of SOCAR carried out monitoring work to define initial environmental situation with MKP-452 scientific-research vessel in “Umid” oil & gas platform developed by N.Narimanov Oil Gas Extraction Establishment. For valuation the initial environmental condition the stations were chosen taking into consideration the existence of strong currents in this defined area of water where the concentration of pollution is estimated to be very high and the monitoring work was carried out in depths of 55-60 meters in 20 different stations.
